Partners and
Alliances
Building you own network is not something that you can do in the first
week or even the first month you run you business. If you are lucky
you have a network of your own starting after a year, but building
that network never stops.
It is not hard to find people out on the web that are willing to have
a business relationship with you. The hard part is to find people
that you can trust and that have the same business attitude as you
do.
The best business relationships I have are planned as long-term relationships.
Don't jump in too deep with one partner right away. Don't play it
all on one card. If you find that you can trust your contact with
a small deal, consider one that is a little bigger with this supplier
next time. Also consider cultural differences: The world has gotten
rather small because of emails and phones, but culture is something
that does not change fast. Because of this, it is wise to take small
and slow steps when building a long-term business relationship.
